Iguazú Falls
Iguazú or Foz do Iguaçu consists of 275 waterfalls, spanning 2 miles between the borders of Brazil and Argentina! One of the 7 natural wonders of the world!
We arrived at 8am after a 14 hour overnight bus from Florianopolis. Our bus arrived on the Brazil side, although our hostel was on the Argentina side. After our overnight bus dropped us off at the terminal, we hopped on a different bus to go to the next station, where we needed to catch yet another bus to cross the border. After two bus rides, we decided that uber would probably be quicker and ordered one to take us across the border to our hostel. After a 15 minute drive we arrived at Bambu hostel. Only this was not the one we had booked. There happened to be one with the same name on the Brazilian side, and unfortunately, that was where we ended up. It was then that we realized you can’t uber across the border. You can only go in taxi! So we got a taxi. Finally making it to our hostel, we checked in and dropped our bags off. To our surprise, we gained an hour, which was great because our time for the day was limited. We are breakfast and headed for the falls!

On the boat, completely dry!

On the boat headed to these!

Aftermath! Completely soaked!

Still soaked

After hiking the lower falls, we took the train to devils throat. Once the train stopped, you had to walk a mile on bridge over the falls to reach devils throat.

After devils throat we walked back to the train hoping to make it the the upper falls hike. With the park closing at 6pm, we needed to start the upper falls hike by 5pm. And we just made it!!

You can also see Coatis in the park. These animals will steal your food so you need to be careful! They were seen all over the park, but mainly in the area where food was available.

After a long day we headed back to our hostel and had chicken wok and a bottle of wine for dinner! We were super tired after a long day so we went to bed early and we also had a morning flight to Buenos Aires the next day.
