São Paulo, Brazil

We spent a whole 40 hours in this city! Luckily, we found a great flight deal to Florianopolis and didn’t have to take the 14 hour bus there so we stayed a couple nights in São Paulo in route. Our friend, Luciana, who we had met in Ilha Grande let us stay at her place and showed us a great time around the city!

São Paulo is a huge city, bigger than New York City! They even have a service similar to uber but for helicopters, as commutes can be hours. So throughout the city, you will see helicopter pads for landing, and for a price you can uber via helicopter around the city!

Mural by Kobra, a famous Brazilian artist, whose work is seen all throughout the city. All  of his murals are depicted in kaleidoscope theme using bold lines and bright colors. He uses a pattern of repetitive triangles and squares to bring famous people to life.

One of our favorite things in São Paulo was visiting to the market, Mercado municipal de São Paulo! There we tried so many new fruits we’ve never even heard of and the famous sandwhich that São Paulo is known for. Which is pretty much a bunch of meat and a little bit of bread. I tried it but it wasn’t for me!

Us trying all the fruit! I found out I love dragonfruit, as well as Jenny! Kelsey’s favorite fruit of all time is Mangosteen, which I didn’t like. Texture thing.

Dragonfruit!!

Mangosteen!!

This guy was amazing! He was so nice to us and gave us VIP tasting service! In return, we bought him a São Paulo meat sandwich later on and he loved it! In the photo, he is holding another type of drangonfruit but the other one is the best!

Passionfruit! The fruit we had all our Caiprinihas made with! Better than it looks!

Luciana and her Rambutao! Also, better than it looks!

Best fruit tasting ever! We tried everything pictured!

The sandwich that made São Paulo famous. Also pictured is the cod sandwich, another favorite among Brazilians.

Kelsey and I trying their famous sandwich!

The rest of our time in São Paulo was spent wondering around the city, getting lost, and drinking 😉

Next stop, the beautiful island of Florianopolis!
